RPEQ registration renewal opens soon
The Board of Professional Engineers of Queensland (BPEQ) reminds all Registered Professional Engineers of Queensland (RPEQ) that the annual registration renewal period will open on Tuesday 1 April 2025. To maintain compliance with the Professional Engineers Act 2002, RPEQs must complete their renewal by Saturday 31 May 2025.
Registration is a legal requirement for engineers practicing in or offering professional engineering services within Queensland. By renewing their registration, engineers commit to upholding professional standards, reinforce public trust and demonstrate their commitment to engineering excellence.
“I encourage all 23,000+ RPEQs to renew their registration promptly to ensure continued compliance with the Professional Engineer Act,” said Suzanne Burow, Board Chairperson and Engineers Australia Representative. “Failure to renew on time may result in an engineer’s registration lapsing, affecting their ability to lawfully provide professional engineering services in or for Queensland.”
The Board is committed to maintaining the integrity of the profession and ensuring that only qualified individuals provide professional engineering services. Engineers who fail to renew on time may be required to reapply for registration, a process that could involve additional assessments and fees. To avoid unnecessary complications, engineers are advised to complete the renewal process well in advance of the deadline.
The renewal process is straightforward and can be completed online via the RPEQ portal. Engineers are encouraged to review their details, update any necessary information, and ensure their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) records are up to date before submission.
For further assistance or inquiries, engineers can contact admin@bpeq.qld.gov.au. More information on the renewal process, CPD requirements, and registration policies is available on the BPEQ website.
